I have seen this question so many times and you will get various answers. Peoples standards vary also the staff may vary the quality of food will also vary so if one makes a recommendation it may not be worth anything the next night. I think you need to try them yourself because you will have different tastes to others. Would you listen to a recommendation from a guy who always eats burgers, chineses or fish and chips if your tastes are more refined?. Some posters receomend their friends restuarants or their own I am afraid it is best to try as many restuarants as you can and you choose.

rocky, I think that's one of the most sensible answers I have seen on here, it is so true, I have gone to places that people have raved about on here and been so disappointed, it is down to personnel choice at the end of the day.

Message 2, I agree, a very good answer! However I like recommendations, and have hardly ever been disappointed. When we first visited North Cyprus some 15 years ago many people said that we should go to The Hut....the best English food on the island.

This is enough for us to keep away, we eat English food 50 weeks of the year....

But, because of the recommendations, we went, and over the years had many wonderful meals/evenings at The Hut, and later Shirley Valentines with Jan and Nasser (what happened to them?)

We first went to Jasans because we were recommended...oh and St Tropaz, and Veranda.....the list could go on...and on....

we had a wonderful meal at Bellapais, in fact all the places we ate at Bellapais were good, we didnt have a bad meal all the time we were there..... but definately Bellapais Monastery Gardens was memorable........x

Agree with all the other posts....but they are not really answering your question are they? We live in Bellapais and if you want good quality food and setting, and are not going to moan about the price - because the quality and the setting is what you would be paying for....then Bellapais Gardens has to be the one........if you want cheaper you can find that too......all depends what you are prepared to pay. We always go to Bellapais Gardens for special occasions.........cannot fault it at all, but as was said previously if you are a fan of Burgers..then don't bother..hope this helps.

The best in Bellapais is KYBELE inside the Monastery grounds.



Not cheap, and you may need to reserve, but I have never been disappointed in nearly 13 years visiting.



I hope I do not sound like I am sitting on the fence on this issue.
