Hi, Can anyone tell me where I can get some REAL bleach? I mean the really strong stuff that turns your clothes yellow when you forget you just beached the sink lol. Even the domestos here seems to be watered down. If anyone can recommend a good brand i would be most grateful.... Thanks Soraya

i wonder how many people here that use strong chemicals forget that most of us are on either soak away or septic tanks and they don't do them any good

I agree Andrew. I was advised against using strong chemicals. If I do have to use bleach, I usually tip some yoghurt down after to try to put back some bacteria.

If it is for your toilets, Coca cola works well and is not abrasive nor will it damage the bacteria in your system. Just pour some into the toilet bowl and leave for a while.

thanks spud50, I just read an article regarding septic tanks and bleach and now understand a little more about this. I will certainly try the alternatives first. Thanks to everyone for their contributions to the thread.

On the recommendation of people who seem to know about these things, and having read articles on the web, I tip a container of live yoghurt down the loo once a week, PLUS all my apple peelings (cut up into two inch chunks) in order to keep the "right" bacteria going strong. A banana a couple of times a week will have the same effect. I try and stay away from the strong bleaches if at all possible. Tango1

Agree with spud50. Personally I have tried Coca cola for toilets and it is a good bleaching agent.
