If the original Cypriot owners of the land used to build K5 could be approched, with an offer to buy, which must happen at some point in the future anyway, they would then be the owners of the buildings and the owners of the land. 'Oh wouldn't it be lovely' to tell that cheating bank, that they had given a mortgage to a thief who did not own anything ?

If the original GC owners live abroad, with no intention to return to RoC, then this suggestion is a possibility. The problem is that successive RoC governments have [allegedly] 'forbidden' GC's to sell their land. Now, Christofias [allegedly] has 'warned' GC's to ignore the IPC 'route', and further, he [allegedly] has instructed the RoC Land Registry not to issue any transfers of ownership in the 'Occupied Areas'.

If any expats., clutching their TRNC 'Contract of Sales' were to approach the original GC owner of the land, or indeed, any GC, whom they thought could 'help', they could very well find themselves arrested, no doubt with the most 'unpleasant consequences'.

Any dealings would have to be negotiated between TC and GC, and when the 'greed factor' would be entered into the 'equation', I doubt there would be much small change for the expat. - except for the gratification of having thwarted the Akfinans Bank.
