2 year old male, white (usually) Cyprus terrier.Full of life and fun. Loves people, other dogs, cats and children, the beach. We are relocating, cannot take him, and must find someone caring for him to love. He is not very big, so takes up little space. 0542 8726573

A real shame you can't take him with you when you leave the TRNC. Did you manage to sell your property?

Not what you want to hear I know, but if we were living there we would take him at the drop of a hat cos he's exactly what we would want and as we have cats, Harry would be ideal - hope you find a good home for him very soon

I know this wonderful dog and I know the reasons why people are reloc ating, and I know their 'pain', and I just wish i could take the dog. But it is just not possible. But Harry is an adorable dog. Just like the one I have, in fact, but different colour. And in fact, full of love. Hope there is someone who can take Harry. It is such a problem when people are forced to rehouse, and it is such a shame that many folk who think they will see their days out here and take responsibility for other critters, are compelled to have their dreams shattered and must leave, meaning they bear the burden of guilt that they cannot fulfill their responsibilities.

moxie. I have sympathy with your views regarding people who just do not want to spend the cash taking a pet back to the UK. You do however show your ignorance by assuming all cases are the same without knowing the facts. Another point to consider. If you continue to demonise people who advertise for homes on this and other boards, people will stop advertising. They wont take the animals home....... They will just stop advertisng and quietly abandon them here. I have no doubt people like you have already stopped a fair few owners taking the risk of abuse for at least trying to get a home for their pets. Still, as long as you feel better for having a go.

One factor to bear in mind in all this animal saga is that at least these animals have been rescued from a dire existence and have enjoyed a good life for some years. Cost of transportation isn't the issue. The issue is how we get in this situation in the first place.

whatever!!! they abandon them anyway when no one wants them, nice to know, you also know the truth about these people ...Quietly abandoning animals ...nice people!!.....and just maybe they bite the bullet and took them home rather than take the truth ?? im entitled to my opinion as are you

mineko i beleive that is worse for the dog to have been loved, even if its for a short time than the poor souls who will never know love.

You are entitled to an opinion, but mine does not harm animals. Your does! If they advertise on here, the animal has a chance. If you bully them off the board the animal has no hope.

The more you spout your bile the more harm you do. YES it's owners who abandon animals, but it's silly people like you who give them no alternative when they have made the decision.. I would rather people tried to re-home their pets, you are trying to make that impossible. Stop and think.....If you are going back to the UK and are determined not to take your pet....What do you do? try and stay in the real world, it's not as nice as your world, but at least it's.........................Well..... REAL!

Yenibob I actually agree with you on this topic, but your agressive attitude to everything on this board is sad. You think your right on everything, but really everyone is entitled to their opinion, why dont you just respect that.

| I see it as this..The 1st poster posted saying what it was about and left a number to ring...Why keep posting on threads like this if a) it upsets you or annoys you..Pass it on by, easy. B) when there is a number, call it ! If you have something to say or offer any help.. Why must members in the end get fearful of posting such a thread..Seems that some would much prefer if the poster got ride of the dog some how, some way and without asking for help on here ! | sorry, but im in total agreement with yenibob, There could be many reasons why they cant take their dog with them, and such posts on here will deter people from advertising them on here,They are trying to find a home for their dog, they arnt just dumping it. Best of luck mineko |

Is there no vet on the Island who will put animals down - healthy or not? If there is, anyone who cannot re-home a pet should, I think by law (if only that would come about) be made to pay to have the animal put down, rather than have a life on the streets having known all creature comforts and probably turning into an emotionally damaged, therefore, potentially dangerous - animal.

Last message. Yes there are several vets who do this and we as kennels have had many dogs put down reluctantly in the last 6 years. We are responsible animal carers as are the people who posted this original plea. Anyone who has an axe to grind on this issue please email privately mineko or myself for the true details. Meanwhile back to the top for Harry.

See msg 8, to get this debate back on non vicious track. Harry as a very young puppy was living under a car in all weathers a couple of years ago, and we were persuaded to take him on. Along with our other 4 dogs, all of whom had been abandoned in some way during the previous years. Better to have done something than nothing at all. Harry will find a new home, that's for sure.

The original poster of the thread should not have to defend themselves against vitreolic attacks from people who do not know the circumstances. The only reason I am commenting now is to keep the thread to the top because I repeat what I said before, this is a truly lovely dog and the reason for having to leave him are sad, but cannot be avoided. I hope a home is given to Harry so that he has an assured future and the owners can negate some of the current stress they are under. I really do mean it when I say I wish I could help, but Message 1 knows the reasons why I can't.
