I just cant bear to see another animal hit on the side of the road. I lıterally have a aching feeling in my chest I cant get rid of for days when I see an animal that is so defenseless and clueless how fast the cars are going in north cyprus... Or the stray :( If only there was something we can do in cyprus to prevent it :(

Yel you and I have had this discussion, sadly there is not a lot we can do to stop it. Its going to take a very long time and education. It is supposed to be reported if you hit an animal I beleive, who will. The regard a lot have for the poor animals is minimal in a lot of cases. xx

Msg 1, you have just phrased my mind and feelings for them!! Every time I walk to the market, I see strays on the street and end up buying them dog food, or cannot walk home without helping them.!:((. I feel so sorry for them, defensless and innocent! They cannot talk to tell their problems, cannot think enough to protect themselves:(

Unfortunately I have to agree with the last 2 posts..... Desperate situations call for serious solutions...Hoarding animals is not the way to go... for the animals concerned, or the strays left to scavenge or starve... I find it very upsetting indeed..........

Martin it is very upsetting what we see on a daily basis. I only wish there was an easy solution.

Sorry but I'm one of the ones who shoo them off. Hard though it is, you're just going to end up fuelling the problem by nurturing strays. Also locals will see who is a soft touch and start dumping animals on you.

People would never feed rats or mice and IMO feral dogs and cats should be treated the same way. At restaurants I've found a swift boot in the direction of the moggies teaches them to keep away.

Me too Bazzagirl, the more I see of humans and particulary since being here the more I prefer animals. Some people just act like animals. No I will rephrase that animals act in a far better way.

I agree; euthenasia has got to be the only answer. The problem gets worse and will not, in my opinion, get any better, unless drastic action is taken.

Msg16

I too prefer dogs to most people,I have two dogs, dogs won`t look you in the eye and tell you a blatant lie. I think a cull of sray dogs is the way forward shooting is the way, not poisoning.
