| Hi Paul or any others that might know they have come here as tourists for a weeks only and now would just like to visit the South for a day or maybe two i dont think they have a Visa for the South so in that case if they went to the border with their passports would they be allowed to cross. and to push this point i just some to a Police friend here and he said they SHOULD be allowed but on some times they are turned back from the crossing so any answer one way or the other i would be grateful |

| The Saints got there first.. EVEN if a Russian has a RoC visa they are supposed to be 'checked in' via the 'recognised ports of entry' HOWEVER.... if the Russian national has a residency permit in a third EU nation they MAY cross with their EU national upon whom they got their residency ... I don't care WHAT any 'rump' RoC official might say... they would be the ones in trouble if entry was refused.. in this particular case the Russian national HAS to be treated like a European citizen... Please not that this does NOT apply unless the Russian is a resident base on the EU Directive 2004/38/ EC... Those that have residency in an EU nation based on a National Law ( .eg UK Leave to Remain [ indef or FLR] ) or CAN be refused entry... Best get a letter confirming this from any RoC Embassy .. to save crap at the crossing points ... take copies of any marriage certs, etc., |
