hi stayed there over christmas holidays for 3 days on a package deal. food was excellent but more important the rooms were spot on, and very clean, hotel reception was also very good. it is a hotel which i do not think she would have any complaints.

Just been for dinner there today, excellent service, lovely restaurant, friendly staff, food was good. My mom's room was clean and well equipped. Used the water park, slides were fun... (especially the yellow one ) About ten minutes drive from kyrenia, bus service runs by hotel. 7tl per person. coming back taxi was 35TL. Hope this helps.

Hi everyone,

We have booked a cheap holiday to Lapethos next week for us and our 5 children. Holidays cost us a fortune with so many kids so have booked here half board for the week. I'm hoping the food etc is good, as this will make or break our hol, my husband and I are big foodies!

We are hoping not to spend too much spending whilst here...we only have to buy lunch and drinks, so from what i've read supermarkets etc are reasonably inexpensive. Can anyone recommend a supermarket near the hotel please? Also a recommendation of money exchange nearby would be helpful.

We have had a stressful few years and really need this holiday....we have been nervous as there aren's many reviews around for this resort, and many of the ones that are are awful, but date back to 2006. I'm glad you posters have had good experiences there! I'm really excited now!

sounds like you won't have a car but don't worry, for a week in the Lapethos you won't need one. there are a couple of good supermarkets, lots of good bars and restaurants and a couple of good beaches all on your doorstep. hope you have a wonderful holiday. can't think of an exchange round there though, perhaps the hotel would exchange for you. rate today (as a rough guide for you) at the exchange shop in Alsancak was 2.57 lira to the £.

ive found that my bank generally gives the best exchange rate if im taking it out on an ATM. Lapethos is quite nice, i've been there a few times myself and never had any complaints and as he said there are a lot of shops and things right around there so you can do cheap and tasty lunches pretty easily.

There are lots of little shops along the road and some larger markets too so shopping won't be a problem. It's a really is a nice area and although i recommended the restaurant in a previous post i thought it might be well to mention that drinks are not included in the meals (Half board/full board..... this includes water) so with five kids, if you don't want to pay extras..... make sure your all well hydrated for dinner



Weather is lovely here at the moment and kyrenia is beautiful as ever. Hope you have a lovely holiday, it is a nice place to be when you need a break.

Bring plenty of high factor cream. It's cheaper in the UK. Expect low to mid 30's but it may feel even hotter! Hope you have a great time.

Is the hotel you are all refering to the old Club Lapethos hotel, first on the left as you join the strip?????.

We used to stay there on a few occassions and it was very good up until it closed down.

Hi Dickyboy, I'm not sure, i'm sure others will answer, but strangely enough I thought it might have closed down at some point.

Reviews seem to date back to 2006- which aren't very good, then they disappear for a while and have just started coming up for 2010 and 2011, so I thought it had been closed or having a refurb or something. I have read that it's now had a refurb -2010, but I think only parts of it has been done, so here's hoping we get a nice new part, although with 7 of us, we might have to except what we get, as there won't be many rooms that accommodate us all!
