Is it true that geranium plants keep snakes away?

yesterday one of our visitors who saw our geranium plants near bungalows said that geraniums keep snakes away. I didn't believe her but she said it's true. I've searched from internet and found some articles about related topic, but I couldn't find any scientific research. Is there anyone in this forum knows anything about this, can we keep snakes away from our houses by planting geraniums?

well they didnt keep the snake away in my garden the little bastard got in and killed my beloved dog last night so i think your answer would be no ,sorry

I also heard that geraniums keep snakes away, also cats, but as I have both, I have to say it doesn't work.
