| I have just returned from walking my dogs over the ravine to find someone has stolen my staffis kennel. We kept it just outside our garage as he loves to sit there and watch all the cars go by. In broad daylight. I cant beleive it. |

| Oh Liz, I can't believe it. When we first came here 5 years ago, you could leave anything outside and not worry about it. It's so sad the way things are changing. |

| I live in the UK and very often leave my door open, plant pots outside , Don't have a kennel as my cat lives inside (with a cat flap)! left my debit card at a garden centre (was there when I returned a week later) perhaps I live in wonderland! but it's honest, straightforward, and no-one has ever committed a fraud against me in the UK! (although I was burgled 20 years ago!) was insured, although it wasn't very pleasant! On entering the TRNC, defrauded of all my life savings! nothing left! empty bank balance, and empty wallet! Think I'll stay in the UK |

| MUSIN M (mess 36) Perhaps it's where I live in the UK! like Woodspeckie says, just a village! and fantastic neighbours! either you live in a dreadful part of the UK? or your an avid reader of the Daily Mail? Down with the KFC! (Kleptomaniac Flipping Cypriots) Lily (mess 37) Don't write anything off! you have to fight, if someone, together with a country defrauds you! don't play dead Liz! LaptaMike (mess 38) "Doubt if you could get a number of councillors as personal friends back in the UK" I'm not a mason! but would I want a number of councillors as personal friends wherever I lived? The mind boggles! |

I don't quite follow your logic, having friends on the council means things get done quickly. Things get approved instantly when they might take months. PS. | Message 38. I find your comments slightly at odds with some you have posted before, i.e. you mentioned on here some while ago that you have CCTV cameras installed in your home? I seem to remember that some people thought that rather strange? Where do you get the idea that here in the UK we "cannot swap home grown veg with our neighbours"? We do it all the time - we grow vegetables, as do our neighbours, and we swap them. Do you think that this age-old custom is unique to the TRNC? With regards having "councillors as friends gets things done quicker"................. you've lost me completely on that one, I'm afraid. But then, I'm not very bright. |

| Jeannie, you said it all love. Your not that bright. Why is it so strange to have CCTV cameras? It's a large property and I would like to see what's going on around it. Also my father likes to keep an eye on everything over the net. Not that I would ever give you the URL thicko. |

Expat villas are getting screwed left right and centre( and we're somewhat overdue for an intruder rape or double murder) and all some old farts have time for is gossiping about sensible folk installing CCTV. Unbelievable... |

| I agree with lapta mike. I feel safer here than in the uK. 4 years ago i left my wallet on the dashboard of my windows down car on the main car park in girne. it was still there when i returned 2 hours later. I had my car battery nicked a couple of years ago, it's true. But my neighbour told me he had heard a car engine being unsuccessfully cranked at about 6 that morning. Presumably somebody needed a battery to get to work. At least that was a worthy cause and not some no-brain druggie stealing for his next fix. |

| There is one thing i'm so happy about living here in the uk, is that i can take my 3 lovely dogs out for walkies, leave them in my garden without any threat of them been poisoned. I dont have to witness the immense cruelety of seeing staarving dogs, dogs locked up in tiny wire cells or tethered to some holding post, sometimes without food, water or any shelter from the elements. these things i do not miss, i am a great animal lover so these sights did have and continue to have an impact on me. I'm sure someone out there has a kennel they give you Lilli, or why don't you lovely people have a whip round to buy Lilli another kennel. She certainly deserves this. xxxxx |
