| Just doing a bit of reflecting this morning - We have all been helping the TRNC gain independance by helping it stand on it's own two feet. By us spending whilst we are in the country we are helping to raise the standard of living for those living there. I am pleased that my Turkish Cypriot builder can benefit from my payment to him. He can fund the schooling for his children. Hopefully all the money will circulate around the island to all those who can benefit from it. (The only downside is that my carbon footprint has been pretty big this year, all the travelling backwards and forwards.) |

| That's good. While I am very happy to have a property, finished an delivered to a high standard, I do worry that the developer is registered in the UK, so I presume taxes are most paid/not paid there. And, like all salespeople, I was told by the 'developer' that he had made sure the builders who, according to him, 'knew nothing about building until I came along' ect ect did a good job. Hindsight is a good think, I know now that out builders (Mesan) are one of the best builders there. We had a bit of trouble (no a lot of trouble) with one aspect, and one of the people who worked there had a (retired) father who used to build, and after a week of getting nowhere, he brought his retired dad in, who shouted at all the workmen, and the problem was overcome in 2 hours - and he would only accept one free drink for his efforts, lovely man. |
