i do not have any knowledge of cars and last time i went to the garage for service they wanted a fortune saying my engine was loosing pressure ,i had another opinion and it the spark plugs .is there a goverment center certified for checking cars ?

Able to recommend Erderner Garage in between Erderner supermarket and China Bazaar on East side.



Travel a bit further out (Ercan roundabout after going through Army camp) and Tiga are very good as well.



Both are honest and know what they are doing.

Given that to pass an MOT here, the most important thing is they check the engine number and look for mud flaps, never checked rear lights, brakes etc, so any gov check if there is such a thing would probably not be too comprehensive.

There is a London Cypriot called Yiggy at Alsancak who is very reliable and honest. Can give number. He is on the road to Merit Hotel just passed Tervetulo Restaurant. But depends which side of Kyrenia you live.

If yop want a "proper" place to have a professional service, then you need to go to Lefkosa. Dr. Car is the place to go. It is on a par with our local Aston Martin dealer back in UK. The place is spotless. Every car is placed in its own marked out area and the mechanics are highly trained. You are given an appointment time and if you wish you can sit in an upstairs lounge and watch them deal with your car. There are comfortable armchairs, a PC on which you can use the internet, plus large screen TV. Coffee and tea is available on demand. Its easy to get to i.e. in the area to the right of the Ataturk Stadium. They have a separate building for body work. If necessary they will collect your car on a low loader and take to Lefkosa.
