I thought it interesting that the President of Turkey should make his first visit of his Presidency to the TRNC.

Clearly from his statements he see's he South and North having distinct differences. The Greek Cypriots noted that Gul stated that the two sides had two diffrent religions. This piece of the statement was omitted from the Turkish Cypriot version of events.

Particularly pleasing, is that Gul has stated that Cyprus will not come under negotiations in Turkeys bid for EU membership.
