Anywhere to get umbrellas recovered?

We have been quoted 275 tl to re-cover a 3m umbrella. This seems to be quite expensive as we could probably buy a new one for the same money however these are nice wooden ones and the frames are perfectly ok so it seems a waste to just chuck them away.

Anyone have any ideas please?

We have had a couple done at Hay Hay at Karakum - very reasonable price and quick service - we took the 'old' one in for 'Mrs Hay Hay' to use as a template.

ozankoys .. Be interested to know what Hay Hay quotes you ..

Maybe 2/3 years ago we had him make a 3mx3m gazebo replacement cover .. £90 at the time ..

This has now disintegrated as does everything in the sun ..

Went to see how much for another one .. Quoted 350TL or £160 & sail cloth 550TL or £220 ..

He said it would take 15 metres .. Being an ex draughtsman I could mark out & cut the pieces from a 9½ metre running length of material .. Could make your cover ozankoys from the "waste"

A neighbour had Hay Hay put up 4 "under & over" strips about 8 metres long pergola type .. The cost was £170 .. Assuming £20 for time this would work out at £3 / metre .. Yesterday he wanted £6 / metre for the material alone ..

Try Nicosia , wall down from them old market now closed for refirbishment towards the ledra street crossing. On the right hand side is a material shop. try there , very good service and better still very resonable prices.

Try the workshop behind tha Akunt supermarket up by Selan Villas ,[on right coming from Girne to bell,apis just past Altankiya Holiday complex].He has his business in Tin Pan Alley,of the high street on left by barbers. Always been satisfied with his price and work

I drove by Aladdin's Cave 60 minutes ago and he is not closed. Lots of stock outside displayed as usual. In case there is confusion regarding location, he is located in Karakum close to Rafter's and shares the corner with Fit Gym.

Hi we bought 2 x 3m wooden umbrellas last year for 99.99TL each last year at Stormax (next door to Burger City Karaoglanoglu) absolutely superb quality. Was in there just over a week ago and they have them again and still at the same price. They also have same size 'banana' umbrella at 160TL absolute bargain.

did he show you the material as he used a much heavier one than our original and we had been quoted £250 + from Burhams where we originally purchased umberella.It was about 18months ago ours was done and think it worked out about £100 using other company.

There are 2 upholsterers in the parade of shops, Okans is the one nearest to Girne ..



Excellent job, very good price, extremely satisfied ..
