Yes should be a good one now we are all outside again. The Winter lasted too long. Went to The Lodge on Saturday night to watch the new Pearl. Great nite there especially Dan who did a 15 minute solo on behalf of Tulips and raised over 500 tl for them. Must have been 300+ people there.

happyhere ! as you so often post ! nothing better than a live band ! so wont expect to meet you saturday ! shame ! are you related to "stilloveithere" ?? Dan is a great talent and should be in a band that "extends"(no pun intended) his talents ! when you get to my age its great to see such young talent breaking through as so many do ! but such a shame he's held back by substandard musicianship around him ! he knows what I mean ! my own band of session musicians have agreed to play here next year for a major charity ! I cant wait as they are all top musicians in the music world some teaching at music uni's ! It should be absolutely great, if not for you' but me and people who like my music style !!!!! hope to see you when i have qualified ! lol x

Despite power cuts causing technical problems during the show, we had a great night out at the Lodge with Pearl . The atmosphere was brilliant and stayed busy till the end.

First of all the 5 people are all musicians in there own rights,some of us have favorites,message 5 Happyhere,im sure snakes heard all about the pearl concert and how good it was,in fact he also asked me in a careing way if the pearl concert went well and plenty of people supported the evening.



I really do think that its time to not hijack threads with comments regarding other musicians when this thread is about some 1 else,i feel happyhere knew full well what he was doing when he posted in this thread,also i think snakes comment regarding (substandard musicianship around him ) Around Dan, i think this comment is a bit below the belt also,after all there was no bad comments coming from pearl or any of the band members.



I for 1 would love to hear Dan and snakes have a riff together on stage some day,not for who is best or any challenge,but for us all who would love to listen to the 2 of them play together and enjoy it for what it would be.

Pearl are a band that play all there own live music which is wonderful.



Snakes is a 1 man band who chooses to play his own instruments and record them and then play them as his backing group at his giggs.



The 2 cannot be compared they are totally different in every aspect of there music.



So why do some wish to make compassisons and try to wind them up or stir up a pot.



Lets have a great summer where we can listen to both at diffrent locations all over the island,and in the hope that in the future we might get to listen to snakes and Dan play a 1 nighter together for us all to enjoy the islands great guitarists together.

Yes they can-its called entertainment value and experience.



Example-MJ and the Beatles were world class entertainers and I enjoyed them both.



Thought musically Pearl had the better offering.



Its only my view having attended both gigs.

Pearl were great on Saturday they had at least 80 to 100 people dancing at any time the band was rocking. The last time snake was doing a charity gig he bored the crowd because he lost him self with in his own bad music and played one hour longer than he should .If he was not there he should keep his mouth shut

I can't understand why you keep having a pop at Pearl! They're not doing it to you, so why? I was at the gig last Saturday and it was absolutely fantastic. People dancing and singing along with the music. I've seen dozens of live bands in my time, many 'big names' who, on the night, are absolute rubbish. Pearl played for, what, three hours or so and left the crowd calling for more. That's a good gig in my book. Dan, the guitar player, is exceptional and would grace any band he cared to play with and he chooses to play with his dad and two other guys in the name of charity. You can't knock that. Your style is different from theirs. Live and let live, Mr Snakes and please stop this bitching. It doesn't endear you to anybody and certainly won't help you promote your upcoming gig.

Dear Mr gotavilla ! I certainly am not "having a pop" at Pearl infact I am all for any form of performing talent because its a very hard job wherever you are in the world. Infact I used to play with Bob their bass player and singer way back in 1977 before you were born and it was great to go over old times with him at the recent "Ismail" concert ! If you were to be so caring and astute and read the posts on this thread started by "0maintainance" you will notice that the first negative comment was started by Happyhere who wandered off topic comparing our acts and then Mr Ted and if you were to be ever so clever and looked at their profiles and posting history you would see their incredible adoration for a certain TV system and company which is connected to members of Pearl ! you will also see that last year, for no apparant reason, Washerman (Paul their drummer) launched a scathing attack on me ! If these are the people you wish to support then so be it ! I dont need to promote my gig

Just because I am pleased to be one of Pauls happy customers and would recommend his TV package to anyone it doesn't mean to say that I'm unable to be impartial when it comes to listening to good quality music.



My posting was based on a reaction to your very unfair and un-neccessary comments about Pearl and has nothing to do with my views about Arriva.



Would I go to one of your gigs again?-yes I would.



Do I think Pearl are better entertainers than you? -yes I do.

If the coverage in the Star Newspaper is anythig to go by,its a good job Pearl only has one excellent musician and according to Sakes three sub-standard musicians.



Bloody hell-if they were all excellent there wouldn't be a venue big enough to hold their gig.



Come on Snakes-credit where credit is due-a fantastic first gig and Pearl deserve to be congratulated not ridiculed by a fellow professional.
