I've run out and my last batch of 'earlies' are ready for digging up. Has anyone had much success with using normal supermarket potatoes here or whether I should just save a few of my taties to sprout vs supermarket taties? (Would they be seed taties when they sprout? Or do they put the chemicals on them here to stop potatoes becoming seed potatoes like they do in the UK?)

Unless you are producing on commercial scale, why do you need seed ones. Cut the normal ones in to 2 and you double the quantity.

YFred thanks for the reply, I like to grow my own veg. With seed taties you can easily get a 6 month supply of new potatoes from a 3 - 4 month cycle for two crops.. Here in Kibris you can get them all year round if you can get seed taties. Slightly off topic, if you want to grow some spring onions, when you cut the root part off an onion for cooking, let it dry out on a windowsill then plant it in a bit of compost and keep well watered. In no time you have spring onions.
