We went to see "Murder in Play" last night, great play, great cast, good fun but hey why had no one ever told us how fantastic this theatre is??? Comfortable (proper) theatre seating with an uninterrupted view of the stage. and the theatre is fully airconditioned how luxurious is that? The Belediyeye supply the bar and the reasonable priced drinks can be taken to a huge roof terrace and enjoyed. What a great facility. Thank you Girne Belediyeye for a great venue and KADS for a great production.

The fact that no-one seems to be aware that the Theatre exists is the fact that Girne Belediyese just don't "push" it. As you say, its a theatre in miniature, deep stage, lighting, flats, raked seating etc etc. It could be used for many different events and its only by people like KADS and Kyrenia Chamber Choir performing as they did a couple of weeks ago, that others get to be aware of it.

I don't know for sure how many the auditorium holds, but I should imagine about 100 - 140, but all with a good view and legroom.

KentishLady so glad you enjoyed the show. You are right the 'culture center' is a semi hidden gem in Girne. I took the liberty of shooting a few snaps so people can see how nice it is as a facility.

Tango1 was singing the praises of the theatre, too, Erol and it does look to be a fantastic venue. Thank you for the photos. I believe the theatre is located on the road side of the Wednesday market site, upsatirs next to the cafe. Break a leg for your last night. Would have loved to have seen it as it has had some great comments, but have visitors and other commitments.

Would love to see this. Is it still on? Or am I too late? Are there still tickets available? If so, proper directions, please.

The performances tonight and Sat 28th Start at 7.30pm, best to get there around 7.00 pm ish. The ticket price is 15TL and all proceeds go to charity (SoS and KAR) and no I am afraid they can not accept credit cards at the door. Sorry.

A 'map' of where the theater is can be seen here (courtesy of google maps)

http://www.visionmatters.co.uk/cyprus/map.jpg

I have circled in red the building in which the theater is, it is on the second floor. On the above link the roundabout in the top right hand corner is the main lefkosha-girne roundabout in girne.

I find maps confusing! It is so easy to find. Go to the wednesday market and at the 'bottom' of the main market area is a building housing a cafe and the theatre, there are big signs over the front advertising the play, you can't miss it, just go upstairs and buy a ticket, 15 tl and have a good laugh and a good night out.

Hey Pat. Did I tell you how great I thought you were? I loved the bit when you were made to 'act' when you 'are not an actress!' you really made me laugh

Are tickets only available at the door? Or can I buy in advance to be sure I'll get in?

Best plan is to get there by 7 pm to ensure a ticket and enjoy a drink on the bar terrace before the show!

We went last night and must say..... what a good nights entertainment it was.... glad I gave up seeing Man U... a team I hate.

On a positive note that cast, the back room poeple and the whole Kads company did the TRNC proud.

Look forward to your review in Festival11.
