The ROC seems to be getting rougher by the day.

"...providing better quality products at lower prices. Certain goods manufactured under its own label have provided a healthy alternative to consumers looking for cheaper products on the market."

No wonder the GCs tried to burn it down.

I am not surprised, I was in this shop only three weeks ago, we where visiting friends that bought in Protaras, They where over the moon when the store was opening, for reasons not hard to work out, but our friends also told us it opened 1 year late, and the GC store owners close by done every thing they could to stop it opening, Done think they are kean on competition, and giving customers a fair deal

But I could be Wrong ( NOT )

mmmmmmmm,

Was not the Bristol Tesco protest about globablisation and capitalism, etc?

The Lidl thing in RoC was purely about the Cypriot response to competition. Don't try to compete yourself, just burn it down.

Mark,

Behave! That part of Bristol is very dodgy even to the most bohemian of people!

how 'convenient' an 'excuse'...

re 11

HOW do YOU know why Lidl got torched.. ? It might have been a disgruntled employee ( or two ) ..

A LOT of ASSumptions going on here .. ;)

@ msg 10, 0maintenance: (...) we dont want cyprus becoming a little bristol or little brittain! (...)

▶ Let alone Britain!

P.S. I only suppose your first language is English: please use the informal name "Britain" for Great Britain spelled correctly. Let's all try, eh..?

I have used Lidl and Aldi here in the UK for 2years now,and find there produce very acceptable and the price is very good.Since we changed from Tesco/Morrisons our bill has gone down £15 a week.Their wine selection is as good as any one elses on the market and there prices are excellent.Lidl is very good for fruit and veg, wine and some frozen stuff, but we tend to spend more in Aldis, their bread and rolls etc are beautiful, but then what is beautiful to one is awful to another.Being on apensioon I have no complaints about what I pay at both stores...
