When you say running your property with solar power, what were you thinking of running? Hot water isn't a problem but I would have as big an insulated cylinder as possible. You can get a photo-voltaic solar system to provide electricity but very expensive compared with the electric generated.

Good luck,

James

We know a couple who own a house on the hill going up to Esentepe who've installed the additional panels to generate their electricity. They found even though there was plenty of sun what it actually generated wasn't enough to do anything with. They've given up.

I've always wondered why not more use of solar power is made in the TRNC - the path and garden lights would work fantastically well. Even in the UK, I paid about £30 for 36 solar lights, and 3 years on all are working apart from 2, (I think one due to the fact a flower has managed to grow into it.......), and I've not had to change the batteries once. Not that I've read the instructions as how to yet, they are stitting there on top of the TV instructions, the DVD instructions, the PC instructions etc etc etc.

Am I the only one that does not read manuals until something goes wrong?????
