Just been and had a great new tattoo done - the tattooist was excellent - did a great job and the studio was very clean and hygenic - I was rather impressed.

Many thanks to Alper at Infinity tattoo!!!

I wonder how much it'd cost to remove an 'infinity' tattoo? Or is it for the Infinite, forever and ever ...

RE message 5 and 6 -

The post was purely to let people know about this great tattoo artist - if a tattoo is not what you consider a good idea - fine - but others may find this information useful !!!

A man walked into a tattoo shop.

"Good afternoon sir, what can we do for you?"

"Well, I'm really passionate about my home town, and want something done on my knuckles, you know?"

"No problem sir, what did you want exactly?"

"N-O-R-W-I-C-H on this hand, and C-I-T-Y-F-C on this one."

Dear Clarissa

Please accept my sincere apologies for the delay in replying - very tardy of me!

Joking aside, many thanks for posting the links. Obviously, I didn't go back to that particular thread at that time. I have, of course, now had a look and would like to thank you for your kind sentiments. I rarely receive flowers these days

Yours sincerely

Jean

PS airy fairy - once again, apologies for 'highjacking' - I promise this will be the last.

@ airy___fairy, thank you for being helpful enough in giving the information, I will be at least one person who is grateful for it.

I have to get it past my darling wife before I get another tat of course but then she is the person who will see it more than anyone and therefore her opinion is important, as for all the others commenting on here about whether they think it ia a good idea, why bother, it just shows your intolerence for others personal choices even when it will never have an effect on your life.

Thanks again a_f, I think I have an idea where to find the place.

i'm with mess 23............

looks like a cheap "transfer" jobbie to me, where you went in on the spur of the moment and plumped for the first design you saw.....

and what a daft place to put it.............

IMHO...

thanks NN - we can always rely on you to turn up and make a useless comment !!!

This thread is for information purposes for those who are INTERESTED in tattoos and may wish to have one done by someone in Cyprus - in which case I would recommend Alper - my husband and several friends have also had him do their tattoos and are all very happy with the results too.

Mine is still healing as was only done last Friday - but I can assure you it does not look like a transfer jobbie.

mess 26 AF - i'm interested in tattoos - hence why i had to comment on yours....

what i mean by "transfer jobbie" is where you go into the tattoo studio and look through a book - pick a design and the tattoo bloke uses carbon paper to transfer the design onto your skin, then tattoo's it on...

A proper tattoo (IMHO) is where a skilled artist draws the design from scratch directly onto the skin then tattoos it on.

Just like my missus's tattoo - click link below:

Lionel - I didnt put ' mine up for debate ' - I posted a recommendation for a good tattoist - I have checked your guys out - the style of tattoing is not my cup of tea - but hey - maybe thats why you dont like mine - By the way -it is still healing in the pics - hence looking a bit blotchy in places .

oh Dear Darren Stares and Lal hardy ...award winning balck n grey ..years running , last one at Gillingham ..May 29th, 2011!!, 2 amongst the most famous tattoo artists in Europe!!! not your cup of tea ...i can see that..Blotchy now means blotchy always!!.Lets agree to disagree....its bad !!!but having said that your idea of a tattoo is not my idea of a piece of artwork? Try googling Lyle Tattle , LA,or Hanky Panky ..Holland...maybe then you will see what real skin art is all about

ive trained in sheffield and hope to be tatting in n cyprus eventually, when i go for good. ive been an artist for years, as was my dad workin for disney.there are tattooists and there are tattoo artists. in england the talent is stunning. its easy to copy a stensil on skin.its the techniques of shading and reality that set apart the talent. you get what you pay for, and a good artist will charge hundreds for a decent piece , which make take a good few sittings. the place looks very clean and has all the mod cons e.g autoclave to sterilize.

And ??? the situation/autoclave aparatus , does not reflect the artists standard of work.i was tattooed by the late Dave Ayres from Bristol. yes i paid lots !!!15 yrs ago £200 and the colour is still as bright as the day it was done.Tattooing is a precise art..too deep into the subcutanious fat layer will cause it to fade and lines to swell. as will a piece that is too shallow, you know all this anyway, let me know when you come ...im thinking of a new piece and no way in hell will i have it done here Guy Aitchison would be nice lol :0 but then that means a Chicago trip :(

Folks, don't you think we get enough hassle from the non inked without haveing to argue amongst ourselves, as you, I and everyone who has ever had a tat done from lip lines to full torso tats, it is a life choice to get a tat and it is your own choice. Would you really appreciate someone telling you that you could have gotten a better tattoo somewhere else, its not like a pair of shoes that you can just take them back with a reciept and go to a differnet store with the refund.

a-f, if you are happy with your tattoo, then it is perfect. If you are happy with the artist, then he did what you wanted.

If anyone doesn't like the style or the technique then don't go there ad don't get that style wherever you go.

Go and argue with the blank canvases of the world, they have always got plenty to say about the painteds choices about something they haven't done through personal choice.

I would rather be happy with my choice of mask than one that others try to force upon me. PGRoger 2011
