Hi i was just wondering why so many english people like to give there money to the turkish companys and individuals in the work trade. When there is plently of english trying to make a living to.

why when you work for a Cypriot will they quiet happily NOT pay you your wages. They are quick enough to take our money!

im not knocking the cypriots in any way as i am half turkish cypriot myself. i just get very annoyed with this situation as i hear every day of another brit working really hard to earn a living with no money at the end of it. i think we should all look out for us brits alot more

does anyone agree??

just want to say im not trying to offend any one here it is just my opinion on the working life here as we have experienced it 1st hand. its not a nice feeling at all to work all month with no reward at the end of it no one wants to work for free. im just tired of seeing friends and family return to the uk as a result of working long hours for nothing.

hi nemika

i hear what you are saying.

we have been renovating here for 3 years.

in that time we have tried to employ people for some help but this just hasn't worked.

the turkish workers we had, want english wages and are not tradesmen of any discription.

we have had quotes from cypriots who say they are builders who can't even work out the square meters for the job.

we have carried on and done the work ourselves. things have gone at a slower pace but the job has been done to a good standard.

it would be nice if any qualified expat would advertise their services online here so we could all use someone decent for any job we need doing.

we need rendering and plastering help right now as we want to get finished before xmas.
