Britain is training Saudi Arabia's national guard – the elite security force deployed during the recent protests in Bahrain – in public order enforcement measures and the use of sniper rifles. The revelation has outraged human rights groups, which point out that the Foreign Office recognises that the kingdom's human rights record is "a major concern".

If the UK governments intention is to train Saudi troops to prevent demonstrations in Saudi and Bahrain then they should stop this immediately.

I was seconded from the British forces to a Middle Eastern State to train Snipers !

The brief was they were to be trained to the same standards as the Royal Marines Sniping Course.

All that bull about an ARAB being able to hit a fly off a camels nose at 600 yards is just that, BULL...

They couldn't hit a barn door at 300 metres with telescopic sights !!!

Needless to say I couldn't "pass" any of them on four courses over a twelve month period !

Their camouflage and concealment was excellent but they came out of their hides to give it woopsy five times a day, making observation of their otherwise impeccable hides easy!

As the majority were unable to read and write, their communications had to be done by radio which compromised their location.

The Baluchi (Pakistanis) were a better soldier than the Arab who has an inbuilt air of superiority.
