With the ongoing sagas of non payers on various developments encouraging debate, does anyone know if the commercial establishments on these sites pay the same fees? And how would we know, as owners, if these fees are paid and indeed fairly proportioned?

On our site, there are 3 commercial establishments and they pay the same maintenance fee as the rest of us, obviously if you want to have your offices in lovely gardens and a pool for your staff for a lunchtime swim then it has to be paid for. What about other sites? Interesting topic

Well on 2 of the four I know the commercial properties pay zilch, in fact one of them abuses the pool facility by letting their customers use it, and its not the one some of youll jump to conclusions on, (but they did as well, and they are welcome to at present if they want poisoned lol ) Suehowlittle, you are bang on, because if its a bar or restaurant they will be the biggest users of the sewerage equipment ect. and their motor traffic will play a big part in the deterioration of the roads ect. that together with the disturbance with people leaving intoxicated and the all too often fights of course they should be paying, but too often these places are owned by the developers and they are virtually untouchable

Sounds like we are lucky then because we only have 2 travel agents and the builders main office (Cyprus Branch). There is very little in the way of foot traffic/cars We are also lucky because the chairman of our committee watches from his balcony and if anyone who does not belong or who is not paying their maintenance is in the pool, he yells at them (from the top floor) that they can jolly well get out of the pool if they are not contributing to the cost of it. - I think only the Cypriots could get away with that but we all admire him for his tenacity. We also had kids coming up from the Turkish Quarter for a sneaky swim. I think its really hard for them when its hot and have a sneaky admiration for these young 'uns who roll over the fence and if they get 2 minutes in the water, consider it was worth the b********g. (I am sure you can all remember being young!) You would think there would be a municipal pool somewhere for them to swim in.
