I have just sorted out my residency, can anyone run me through the procedure for a TRNC drivers license?

there was post about this only a week ago i think -



easy way - go to driving school on left before police station in girne with all paperwork and 200ytl and they will do all for you



harder but not too bad way - take paperwork to Lefkosa - pay 150ytl - wait week go back pick up - is easy enough to find in Lefkosa - do you know where car licensing place is?



Paperwork - not 100% as hubby done his - i got to do mine when my work permit comes back - but I will be taking



2 recent passport style photos

2 copies of uk licence and uk license

2 copies of my work permit and details page of passport and passport

cash



i know you dont need 2 of each but - be on the safe side and easy if you haev access to scanner/printer



think this is all - im sure someone will correct me if ive got it wrong !!!!

Lefkosa office is your best bet:

Drive in o the City, big set of lights with governement offices on your left and an old hotel at one o'clock, drive straight across, next junction KKTCELL (turkcell) office take the left, next junction car park in front park up, the road will have a line of shops, chemist (eczane e.t.c) the third office from the bend is the (DVLC) office (second floor) a week later the office next door (ground floor) you can collect yor TRNC licence.

when we took our photos they were printed from our computer.

we had no probs with residency or anything else using the same photos until we went to the driving licence office.

they refused to accept them as they didn't have the photographers stamp on the back of them.

so make sure your pics have the correct photographers mark on them, not from your printer so to speak.

if you do need some pics there is a place just around the corner from the lefkosa office.

also if you speak to the little lady who sits outside by the door she will help you fill it all in and put it in for you.

thanks - i had a new set done recently at a photograph shop - 8 for 8 ytl or something like that - they accepted my husband's ones so hopefully they will accept mine..... he will come with me too so I wont need to worry about the paperwork
