Well, my speeding trial was on today. I did not expect a trial before 11 am but I was there at 9 am. At 11.30 the judge called me and I said I am ready for the trial. The attorney was not ready and had a telling off. The police wittnesses were there in half an hour. The court was extremely busy and at 2 pm the judge gave a break of 15 minutes presumably to eat something. At 3 pm. she called me again and postponed the case to 18th July. I could see that she really wanted to have the trial but under such workload it was impossible.

The other thing I noticed was that the judge was better informed about the contents of the files than most advocates. She must look at each file carefully the day before. I don't think she has any time to watch the telly in the evenings at all. I am most impressed.

It's good to hear that you were impressed with the judge and the time she is putting in to her cases. It appears to me that adjournments are an all too often outcome for court cases. Should there not be more judges and courtrooms to help ease the case load?

Judge's rise to their positions through Advocacy however, too many bent ones around to enlarge their numbers from the can of rancid worms!

Richard

I fail to understand why you can never add any constructive contribution or valid debate to any of the threads on this board.

Groucho,

No, its not a permutation of two out of ten. For non-mathematicians that means 45 differrent sets of two. The two names are already on the summons form. I had a chat with both of them. They were both on duty before they came to court and they were sleepless, so I was really sorry for them and they had to wait until 3 pm like me. In any case, they knew nothing about the case and they would not be able to answer 1% of my questions. They can get in more wittnesses but as far as I am concerned it will be plane sailing
