Just had kib-tek reading our meter, could hear the diesel motor running longer than usual, looked outside to see the meter reader helping himself to plants, that our neighbours and ourselves had planted over the last few years. These plants have been planted to enhance & stop corrosion on the land opposite our homes. When I confronted him, he said "Did you plant them"? when I said "yes", he just laid the plant down from where he had uprooted it, to die :-( But not what he already had in his Land Rover! What a cheek. Navek

Spoke to my neighbour, I said "Aloe Vera, have you any plants missing"? She said "No, All my Jasmine are here" she said "they were Violets plants" but Violet's only got Roses! Spoke to Rose, she's still got all her Iris But another neighbour, Daisy said "they could have been Lily's" I said "no it wasn't Lily's that were taken, and anyway Lily's only got Heather. Wish I'd never started this thread :-( Now Hyacinth & Laurel are all concerned about who's plants they were. I'm glad that Camellia & Poppy are still in UK. Jacob's Ladder is still by the side of the house. And Nigella is in her ornamental garden. I'm off to the pub before Rowan & Veronica get home. Navek

Now here's the quandary.... take this further and lose your electricity supply? Hopefully he's got the message. If not, his employers might be interested to know what employees are doing when they are being paid to read meters.... but.... take this further and lose your electricity supply? We should put up a message in Turkish meaning "Theses plants are not yours to take, they have been planted by the neighbours to stop soil erosion. Please leave them alone"

We had a painter and decorator doing some work 3 weeks ago. Just as he was leaving for the last time and obviously thought we were busy inside, he did an about turn, walked to a garden table and helped himself to cigarettes. Tango1
