I saw a report in The Star ( complete with photos) of the opening of a new restaurant on the Lapta strip called Yellow Orchid, from the report it sounds as though it's somewhere near the old Cabin bar. I have looked for it but no luck, does anyone know where it is.

I may be wrong but don't think it is on the strip but behind the Lapida Hotel.

The old Jessic is now the Hanimeller.



I think it may be behind Lapethos on the road up to Aeria bar.

Just back from Hanimeler aka the old Jessics, next to the defunct Lagoon Bar on the Lapta Strip. Wow what can I say, they have spent a lot of money on restoration work. It is a fabulous place to go. Good menu, good prices. Of course it was packed out, not by brits but Turkish, possibly due to the Lapta festival and the Volley ball contests going on next door.

Last week they cleared the land and dumped a massive load of sand there and now they have sunk some posts type structure in.



Maybe some kind of beach bar maybe ?

Next to the Beach side New Cabin is The Palms, which is down and to the side of it. They also have a great menu and good location. We watched the Jet Ski competitions there yesterday, great fun and good atmosphere. The other side of the New Cabin seems to be a private house. Of coure the Lapithos Hotel have an under pass under the road to get to the Sea, where they have a large decked area for sunbathing and swimning off.

Julia, my mistake its not next to the Cabin (seaside) but next door but one or even two maybe,.... a plot of open land is being turned into something but couldn't work out what ?

I think you are talking about the Volley Ball courts which were installed for the Lapta Festival which finishes today. They are right next to the new Hanimeler Restaurant aka Old Jessics Beach Bar.
