Sickening the whole terrible affair.How can you justify only a 22 year sentence. This man should never ever see the light off day ever again. His wife, the babies mother got a 12 month suspended sentence. She knew he was abusing their baby and did nothing , months and months of abuse. Disgusting. She should be locked up with him forever.

it`s one of three murder trials completed and sentenced in yorkshire this week. in another one of them mr gay uk murdered his boyfriend then fried part of his thigh and ate it. i`ll try and find a link... gruesome

how scary is that ? that a person can inflict so much pain and suffering on a baby before actually killing her , and there was nobody around to protect her , where the hell were the family , friends or neighbours of these animals to allow this kind torture on the baby , it beggers belief . i hope to god when its time for her to deliver they remove the baby from her at birth

Not defending the man who snapped his babys spine but he is off very little intelligence and most probably didnt even realise what the result of his actions would be. There is only so far you can go with regard to sentencing someone for a particular crime and at the end of the day all his real punishment is will be loss of liberty there is nothing that says he has to be treated like an animal etc etc loss of liberty is the punishment whether or not you or I agree with it!

My advice for what its worth is CASTRATE the bastards so they don't bring anymore poor little mites into this world, when their are so many people out there trying so hard to have children, why should we keep them, its our taxes, and the mother should have been given a bigger sentence don't tell me a mother whether she is backward in sense or not knows when a baby needs help she must have been in agony this last year with all the abuse she received,

it was the mother, Hunt, who has an IQ in the lowest band of 1% intelligence.



The father, Howson, had a troubled history and had been violent towards women when he was young, yet he had no previous convictions. Obviously someone with some serious mental health issues which should have been picked up by someone ages ago.



I am by no way justifying his actions.

Unfortunately this crime is not as rare an incident as one would like to think, there are many similar to this every week but don't get as much press. There's no excuse and the sentences never justify the crime I bet he hadn't even been on remand during the trial. Maybe they need to introduce tests (like driving tests) before you are allowed to reproduce - might just cut down on lots of social problems and crime! Compulsory sterilisation also comes to mind.

Hi all ..dont worry he will get his due when he goes inside cos there is one thing hardened cons dont like is people who do those sort of things .He will be hounded for as long as he is in jail and that means where ever he goes.I think at the end he will wish he had been executed...
