There used to be one at Five Fingers Restaurant but I really don't know whether it is still running or not, maybe someone who frequents there can confirm if it is still running

Re : Msg 6,

Yes, I meant 5 Fingers Bookshop. The gentleman who run it had a very good selection of non-fiction books in English and German.

@ msg 6, scoobydoo: Wasn't it who Libby ran the Five Fingers Bookshop? (But she may have left for private reasons, which I shall not mention here). Does that Bookshop still exist - anyone reading this thread in Ozanköy..?!

I hope that when they do re-locate they have a better attitude than they have at the minute. I don't know if the lady who served me is the owner or staff member, but she could certainly do with lessons in customer relations.

▶ What did the lady say when you confronted her face to face with your opinion (before writing it here, of course)?

Ballyboffin, if it was the owner, Barbara, I would not believe it. Barbara and her family have been running successful businesses in NC for many years and is a genuine and good all round person. Maybe speak to her and let her know how you feel about the treatment you feel you received when visiting her bookshop.

She probably would have said the same as all the Brits you slag off without meeting them face to face would say to you DC....

During our 7 weeks in Ozankoy we bought 12 books from there, understanding that we could return them and get discount on further books. On taking them back some weeks later, she would only take 3, saying that she already had the titles. OK, we thought we can take them to the lovely guy at Lambrousa who we also buy books from, he accepted them gratefully.

We were in the Ozankoy shop on Monday and picked up 4 books from the box outside, which we sat on the counter before having a look around. When we went to pay, she informed us that she 'couldn't possibly take these books, they are in such a bad condition' and pushed them towards us on the counter distainfully.

We thought this hilarious and explained that we had got them from the box outside, I jokingly said that we should have kept quiet and taken the books for free. To which she replied, without a smile or apology that the money for those books goes in the charity box and turned away without even a thank you.

Re: Msg 5, 8 &11,

Dear DC,

As the Five Finger Bookshop is open, it would be useful to mark it on the map.

And perhaps Erol's as an orientation point?
