How many more chances at management will this guy get.Just goes to show, even though Q.P.R. are the richest club in the world it doesnt mean that you have a divine right to be successful.

Its the same old story Paul ex footballers who think they have a divine right to move into management but how many of them fail.

Its interesting to note that no ex players take up refereeing ?

It's a bit like the business directors club Paul. Once you make it in to the club you can keep getting jobs even if you are unsuccesful.

Interstingly, Dowie unlike alot of managers, is quite well educated. He has a Masters Degree in Engineering.

Tats,

I dont balme them for not taking up reffing do you.Refs get a raw deal in football in my opinion. My first sport is rugby league and the players treat refs with the respect they deserve and actually refer to them as sir,

Paul.

Thats the point paul, perhaps these prima donnas may show a little more respect to an ex player.

By the way don't apologise for starting a football thread at the moment its better than politics ?

Don't you think Referees are a bit like politicians? They are control freaks and want to be the most important person on the pitch....

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says a photo of club captain William Gallas leaving a nightclub with a cigarette in his mouth is unacceptable.

I had to laugh.... which part of it do you think is unacceptable?

Oh how times of changed...

I remember the days when a manager wanted to know why his players were leaving before the nightclub closed!

Now fags are the demon... I would have thought someone you want to be setting an example to younger players should be taken to task for going into nightclubs... sod the fag...

Hi Grouch

I think some are control freaks such as the Sweedish Guy. Is it Anders Frisks? Don't think they all are though. I think many love the game, could not play to a high standard but just want to be involved in some way.

I would love to try an experiment of not having any referees on the pitch. A lot of modern tactical play is aimed at trying to convince or fool the ref i.e. diving.

The experiement would be for the players to self regulate themselves like we used to do in the school playground. Any decisions or fouls would have to be sorted out by the two teams. The only punishment would be that if the smallest of fights broke out the game would be abandoned and neither side would get any points. You might perhaps have an adjudicator watching a TV screen who would make a decision, if the two teams could not reach an agreement on an issue.

Just a thought - but probably a silly one
