The kyrenia guide, the whats on where and when brochure which also mentions some of the best service providers, has now got its own website....

http://www.kyreniaguide.com

The guide is available free in bars, restaurants, supermarkets, car hire etc

"Bookmark the link so each month you will know where the best entertainment and special offers are to be found"

Wow - great idea. A little awkward to keep opening up pages by clicking left (would be nice just to scroll through) but just nit picking.

I agree a great little guide.

Didn't know when I first opened it but at the moment it's mainly the East side which is really useful for us on that side.

If you're on the Esentepe, Tatlisu side open it up and take a look, you won't be disappointed.

I also agree with Jones though an arrow scroll would be easier.

thank you both and i do agree it could be easier, I will try and sort it today.

It was not the idea of the guide lobylud to be mainly the east side but it seems that businesses that side seem to want to advertise in it more. We did from the offset in May spend a lot of time west trying to get interest but it was very slow. Maybe when the guide becomes more established bars and restaurants that side might start advertising but, i can assure you its not from the lack of trying!

Very useful guide. How about a tab on the top right of the page to move onto next?

As I've said before a really useful guide, well worth looking at.

On the quick reference guide at the back it would be really useful if you could put the telephone numbers next to the restaurants, this would then put all the numbers in one place.

Hi lobbylud a good idea but other people have said the quick reference page is a waste of time as it does not tell you anything about the venue or the service. Because of the limited space i suppose this is true and the only way you will know whats on is to find the ad. So unfortunately we have already decided to do away with this page in the forth coming edition. At least this will encourage people to read through the guide!

hi wireless, we will see what we can do about speeding it up.... but nobody else has brought this to our attention, you sure its not your internet connection?

Hi corbytown,

I take your point about the quick reference not saying anything about the venue but for people who already know these places, it does give in one place (with telephone numbers) somewhere where you could have access to all these restaurants/providers very quickly.

I have already printed this page out and will write the telephone numbers alongside for reference.

If I'm doing it other people probably are.

When I need further details I'll look up the ads.

This isn't criticism just the requirements of a regular visitor.

This is great, well done and if you can keep it updated it will be useful resource for all who live here and who choose to holiday here.

It takes a huge amount of time and commitment to do this sort of thing, listen to your readers for ideas on how to keep it fresh and interesting but you deserve a big pat on the back for taking the initiative.

Good Luck

Needs more ads for venues nearer to girne, Karakum or west of the region, if this is going to appeal to tourists as well as expats or long stay visitors. If a hard copy is available at Ercan more central venues are a must. As always these new mags or guides need time to tweak and get going at least there is something to build upon.

Hi Bondi

totally agree with you but as we said re msg4, for some reason it is very slow catching on west. Hopefull if and when the guide becomes established maybe the bars/restarant owners west will think about advertising their business. At present only La Quente the brazillian steakhouse and north cove advertise, but we still leave the guides in 4 supermarkets that way (at least the tourists there know whats going on east!)

But as you said and we know, it will take time to "tweak and get going"

Not very good site why nor put a seach button so you can find the restaurant/venue quicker. Don't like the way its layed out - looks just just like the booklet

Graham thats the intention of the site to look like the booklet! and by going direct to one specific venue, you are missing whats going on at other venues.

When you quoted me for the website...... i would have wanted exactly the same

A good guide. I am more attracted to the restaurants that show a photo of the venue and it's location i.e. if on the sea.

I must admit that you are more likely to visit a venue that has photos, as it gives you a better idea what you would expect to find when you arrive there!
