Recommendations for lunch by the sea?

Having not tried any of these restaurants lately are there are recommendations please? Am going with a Cypriot friend so they will need to be generous with the food!

Depends which side of Girne you want to be. Veranda in Karaoglanoglu very good, also Silver Roacks beyond the strip in Lapta. Much further out on the coast road to Sadrazamkoy is Horsehoe Bay - very good traditional food. Taners in Karakum is also good but not directly on the sea. Hope this helps

Out towards the east you would be hard pushed to beat the Tatlisu Belideyere restaurant in Kaplica. In Girne I would suggest Ezic Peanuts near the ampitheatre...huge portions (of food!).

Catalkoy Shayna beach cannot get closer to the sea than that. Two restaurants there.

Heading East towards Tatlisu just after Bahceli take the left turn for Sea Breeze. EXCELLENT local, home made food. There is a blackboard saying Moulos Inn so take that turning and at the end turn right for Sea Breeze. [Moulos is left and is not to be recommended].



Taners Terrace Karakum - EXCELLENT local, home made food.



Silver Rocks going West we can highly recommend.

Hi thanks for all the replies, would prefer East really. Have seen quite negative reports about Shayna has anyone been recently please?

Have been to Silver Rocks recently on a Tuesday night the food & service were excellent they were absolutely packed & certainly deserve to be sucessful.

CarrieRBag you recommend the Tatlisu Belediyesi restaurant + Ezic Peanuts surely they are like chalk & cheese (hopefully!)

Msg 9 I was there on sunday it was very nice. Beach bar food is more snacks upstairs restaurant full menu and a fabulous view. I am fussy but have been going there for 8 years now.

My vote is also Ambience - but much better for a special evening meal (watch the sun go down etc).

Great setting but crap service & food. When a restaurant doesn't know how to grill a blue steak or rare lamb chops and waiters just shrug when complaining, representing the same meat dishes even further cooked, there is something seriously wrong. Avoid all Ezic chain of restaurants. This is from personal experience.

fling the bbq in the boot , stock the cool box with your favourites , drive towards the karpaz , stop at the most favourable looking beach , walaaaa its your own , dont forget the picnic table and directors chairs , also you will need charcoal and black / refuse bags to take your rubbish home with you , ensuring a nice clean beach for future users , enjoy we do .

Out west to Horseshoe Bay, lovely drive out there and beautiful setting or the new Hanimeller on the Lapta strip, lovely place, fab traditional home made food, great service.

Definitely recommend Hanimeller (the old Jessics)... Fantastic food, great prices and best of all cheap drinks Family run and very clean...

Brinsley I agree in part to your remarks about the food but Ezic are not renowned for being a michelin starred chain of restaurants, they are fast food outlets and what they do is considered good.
