| In Germany you need to install 6,7 GW of PV-power to replace a 1GW NPS. The 6,7 GW to install cost around 15 billion Euro (prices today, will fall in future). A NPS to build (with “the new” safety standarts) and will add up 7 billion per GW. (prices today, will rise in future) Plus running costs, remediation costs of approx 3 billion (will rise, too) and rubbish question (uncountable), plus possible small and big disasters,. The Fukushima disaster is NOW estimated at 50 billion, but another 85 billion has to be payed in compensation. So, more or less, the “grid-parity” for solar v new NPS is achieved But for the operators and their shareholders it makes sense to run old, unsafe NPS as long as they can, eg instead 30 years for 40 or 50 years. This will bring them 1 billion profit for each NPS per year. Result: ALL countries are in danger to run their NPS until they create us a disaster. This has to be stopped politically. |
