their are semingly different insurance companies that operate from the portacabin opposite passport control and in my experience they charge different prices, you will need to have euros to pay him otherwise you stand the chance of getting overcharged if paying by sterling,$ or ytl. last month i paid 30 euros for a month so as for your 9 days i`m not sure, you may have to pay for 14 days or 10 days or something. some of the hire companies say you cant take their car north, some say its your responsibility if you do and some dont mind. i ve never had a problem with a south car into the north.

I can confirm that the crossing at Nicosea closes between 2am and 3am, opening again between 6.30 am and 7am.

My Payment was required in Euros and depends on how long your stay is.

1 month cover in the summer was 35 Euros. ( take some euros to also spend at the airport in the south ( they will not take sterling ))

You need your passport, Driving Licence and copy of your rental agreement.

It is no bother and takes only a few minutes ( have done this 4 / 5 times over the last 12 months )

yes Sylvie you should be ok at 10 pm, no probs. just show the insurance people your rental agreement or they will look out of their window to check the make and model and reg no. then take the cover note across to passport control with your visa/passport and they will compute everything. if you get flashed by a speed camera(unlikely) it shows up when you return!
