went to Doncaster races yesterday to watch my mates 2yo come second in the 3.00pm 6f. we`ve noticed the race course at metehan with a glance as driving by to the border and it looks quite nice. has anyone been and do they race regularly there??

Hye Redsnapper

We have been a few times now - great Sunday afternoon out. No entry charge/no charge for race card either. horses in good condition (last week there were GB and IRE horses racing) and the track/stands etc clean with plenty of seating..No probs parking Betting is by TOTE with min bet of 2 euros. Races are 2 (sometimes 3) meetings per week - Sun 1st race starts at 2.30 last is 6.30. Not sure of the other meeting it may be a Weds. Food bit expensive and did not see alcohol bar only tea and soft drinks.

The setting is nice also - especially when dusk falls and the Flag on the mountain lights up right in front of you !

All in all its good entertainment with good atmosphere.
