Cypriot tycoon gets legal aid

British taxpayers are facing a multi- million-pound bill to defend Turkish Cypriot tycoon Asil Nadir after he was granted legal aid to fight £34million theft charges.Up to now Mr Nadir has been funding his defence from his own resources.

He fled England in 1993 before trial for alleged theft and false accounting over the collapse of his Polly Peck business empire.

He returned to Britain last year and agreed to pay a £250,000 surety.

oi oi laptageeza, why shouldnt Asil Bey get legal aid, his good name was dragged through the mud by the British Establishment so now they can pay to restore it.

After all everybody and their brother gets legal aid in the UK, so why not A Cypriot Tycoon.

Take it easy and dont stress yourself to much over it!
