A well known photographer joined us last Sunday and he was very pleased to get such good pictures of donkeys and birds. we heard some interesting bits of history from Tassos, who we often meet. He lets you ride on his donkey too. He has lived in the mountains most of his life. Great guy.

I would have thought a noisy tractor may scare wildlife hopefully you do frequent stops where the engine is silenced so nature lovers have time to take photographs.

It does not seem to scare the wildlife. That's the sort of vehicle they see mostly and therefore they don't seem to take much notice.

At one point we had a big 4 x 4 jeep following . They did not like that, it was going really fast as well.

At the moment it's harvest time and there are other tractors about, but they go nice and sowly and we still see a lot of donkeys, birds and lots of butterflies. Saw a fabulous display of some quite big birds of prey. Not very good on identifying those. Must read up more on that subject.

We do stop often. Last Sunday we had a professional photographer and he got us to stop many times.

Bülent, who drives the tractor also is quite happy to deviate from the usual path if something interesting can be seen elsewhere.

Well, for you we might make it 3p!!!

I'm sure we will find a good day for you.

We are trying to get the local council to place a wooden picnic table by the beach and you might get a chance to ride on Tassos donkey. Tassos likes it, when we come as he gets an ice cold beer from Bülent.

eva,

where does the tractor safari start from?

a friend showed us this amazing island you can swim to,

only problem is for once we had a car and you need a jeep

...it's somewhere amongst the cliffs on the coast below dk

Hi dippersgirl,

Went on the tractor safari late May and had a wonderful day saw red legged partridge, wild donkeys, whopee bird, and a bea eater. Visited two churches which split the pan handle in two giving you wonderful viewsIt was a fantastic time 4.5 hours. The food prepared by our mine hosts was fresh and very tasty. Well worth the money spent. We stayed overnight before at Villa Lembos in Dipkarpaz. DBB in this little gem was second to none, £68 including drinks and wine (not to be missed).

Regards

The twirlys
