I live in Ozankoy and wondered if it was just my water supply that has been intermittent in the last week or is anyone else experiencing their water being cut off. In the last 4 days it has only been on once.

I finally had some water last night after waiting 1 week. I live in Alsancak. However, not enough to fill my mains tank (10 ton) So not only are the Bellidyre now restricting how often we receive it, but also how much!

There plenty of local people in Alsancak that supply water at around 10Tl a tonne. If you need contact details then please e-mail me (see my profile for e-mail address).

We are normally lucky in Famagusta, hardly any water cuts except for technical problems. We had no water for the last four days which is very unusual and the water began to flow again lunch time. Not enough pressure to get into the water tank but that is no problem for me.

For cases of emergency like this one, I have a small plastic container which I put under the mains tap and I have a small washing machine pump connected to it with the necessarry controls. So the water is automatically pumped from there to my main tankand from there to all the other tanks. Simple and efficient.

Visited Catalkoy Office friday as there was no water, spoke to Major, who blew a gasket at his staff for lack of water to Sinir sok and he also came down with staff to visit.[low and behold it was on by the time he arrived 10 mins after i got back] Have been told to report any day we dont have water. Man in charge has indicated it will be day on day off.....watch the tap !Guess if everyone made a visit regularly it MIGHT wear them down.

Enjoyit,

Let me warn you. The first time you visit the powers be they blow hot and cold and try to do something about it. You will find them less enthusiastic on the second visit and on the third visit you will be an unwelcome guest

had good response from last years Major.I am not totally nieve get all the "friendly" waves from Catalkoy plumber but what do you suggest ,keep paying for 10 ton of water we dont get and pay for tanks to be filled as we did last week ,whilst the locals keep washing down the concrete. There is suppose to be problem at Cratos Hotel !!!

Exactly. You still pay for 10 ton even if you only use 3. However, you dont get the opportunity to use much more because here in karsiyaka they only turn it on in the middle of the night. By the time you get up it`s usually switched off again.

For the last two weeks, the mains water is disconnected aprox 6.00am AND TURNED ON AT NIGHT - At about 10.00pm / 11.00pm. It is turned OFF all day, I have been told this a new rule to help conserve water. I have seen man from beleydere on little motorbike going around turning it on/off, Has anyone else seen him?
