I can recommend "Minder" if you are prepared to travel to Famagusta. Its next to the "Thursday Market".

Pop into Pine Bay Club in Alsancak and speak to Huseyin. He does a full meze and the dishes are mostly prepared by his Mum and other female relatives. They are Turkish Cypriots.

In 6 years Ive never seen stuffed tomatoes here and Ive learnt why because the cyps will not eat skins on tomatoes when cooked. They believe it makes them ill.

The little cafe in the park by the fountain roundabout does a couple/three Cypriot dishes daily. If you go make it early as they only cook a limited amount and once it is gone, it is gone. Genuine Cypriot hospitality and a nice place to while away an hour or so watching the ducks in the newly refurbished park.

Msg 10

Being an absolute prat, how much do they charge for beer? I pass the ducks quite often and think a few of them are ready for the pot!

Youll find Hatis if you turn left at Ozkays shop & Tumba restaurant and follow the road sweeping right and just then carry on to the end of it you cant miss Hatis on the left.
