I saw someone riding a Royal Enfield motorbike along in Lapta the other day and would like to get in touch with him. I just wondered if anyone would have his/her details?

I think the Manager of IMAP has such a beast - if not he will know who has one as his hobby is restoration of old British bikes.

What's IMAP please? I have a friend who is a bike fan.....and I am sure would love to meet the guy with the Enfield.....he is over here at the mo, and will be spending quite a bit of time here in future and I am sure would be very interested in anyone whose hobby is restoration of old British bikes.

Thanks

Also Hassan who has the Yapi market in Lapta high street, next to the new Bektaş supermarket. Often parked outside.

Harvey

Have you seen the yellow Honda 400/4 parked outside Alpet in Catalkoy.

Wants £3500 for it.

Very low mileage, looks in good nick and no signs of being dropped.

If the price was not so silly and I thought I might get away with not killing myself I might have gone for it.

Worth a look though,super bike.

Did you get some 125`s/150`s in

It should not be too hard to find the Royal Enfield, just look for little patches of oil on pavements etc.The boss at Imap is a old bike fan and so is Charlie in Girne. The bike shop round the corner from Turkbank.

Thanks for all your replies but its one of the new Indian made Enfields I saw. It is navy blue if anyone sees it and the reg starts with "L" so fairly new too.

Charlie is a friend of mine and he doesn't know about this bike.

Itfc1978, I think the 400/4 is a fair price at £3500 (for TRNC). I havent had a close look at it but these bikes are appreciating in value now and fetch a good price in the UK.

The only person I know that runs an Indian made Royal Enfield lives in Bahceli and he is the neighbour of a friend of mine. If you want to buy it then you are second in line. I have already staked my claim. If there is anything else you need to know then I will be quite happy to ask him on your behalf.

After production was moved to India, the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 boasted a bhp of about 5. The 500 was about 7. Would never let you down, overtake, preen but would use less petrol than the average cig lighter.

Oh, those were the days, pity they are still here. Get a Jap, leave a gap. (I said that that)

Thanks AsancakJack, I'm sure that will be "the one". I don't want to buy it but I would like to have a chat with the owner to get some feedback about the bike. I run a BMW R100GS/PD and I would never sell it however I always fancied an Enfield 500 so would consider importing one for a second bike.

Any contact?

I Currently Have A Hayabusa and a 56 Enfield Bullet 350 in trials trim, I got the enfield as a project and have just managed to get v5 and age related reg number for it back in the uk. The bike is a lot more sluggish than I remember (I had one on the fields as a kid) but good fun non the less and easy to get parts for!!
