We want Guido We want Guido

How about that as a slogan? You might have guessed I am into food not bowling - maybe you can teach me when I'm over and hopefully you are open.

@ msg 6, dusty48: (...) we are not interested in Guido. (...)

▶ As far as I'm informed the restaurant on the green bowling centre in Lapta will be run/supervised by Guido Spina. You will need blinkers to avoid him there, I'm afraid...

If the slab is now being laid, what sort of surface is being proposed?

Is it grass- unlikely by August

Is it some other form of vegetation - in Hong Kong we used a form of clover perfectly acceptable

Is it a mat of the indoor variety

Cyber, visit the site (above) and you will see that it is a special kind of Astro-turf imported from bonny Scotland especially manufactured for this purpose.

Simon Msg 6 - I thought I was keeping with the topic not only wanting their talented chef but asking for help to learn to bowl on their "astroturf" green.

The "green" is custom made outdoor bowling carpet imported from Greengauge who have a factory in Edinburgh. The owner of the company is Graham Robertson who bowls for Scotland.

NuttyNora msg 12 - I might try to take you up on the offer but not this year as I suspect next couple of times that we are over will be rather fraught.

This would be a great addition to NC It will certainly help and encourager

people to come to NC in the winter months instead of the South of Spain for bowling where the cost of living is so much more.
