Posters here that call for other posters to be banned, some even suggest particular lengths of ban, and then there are the posters that call for mods to close certain topics or to moderate certain posts or posters.But the real angering thing is when after posters have made such requests they can be made to feel justified when mods do exactly as they ask.

I think anyone suggesting moderation is needed and indeed demanding which form the moderation takes place should themselves be subject to censure.



If you cannot question a mods actions in public one should also not be allowed to suggest moderators actions in the first instance.Lynch mob mentality belongs in the Wild West not on an open forum.

Roomy I understand what you are saying but for me the problem stems from insufficient or incorrect moderating, moderators have a thankless task to do but should act swiftly and decisively, so many thread here go against forum rules but are allowed to do so sometimes until it degenerates into a pointless free for all, re the latest sat Tv threads.

Pugwash, then there should be special mods for the mods, but there aren't.Censorship of freedom of speech is a fine line and yes I do realise there are those that abuse the privilege.I haven't got any magic answers but allowing posters to nag and bray on at the mods until they get their own way isn't the way to go imo.

Fisrtly I think rule four of this forum is a bad and ill concieved rule. Having said that it does exist and I do accept it when I use the forum. Having got that off my chest I do have to say that for me suggesting a given users is banned or given thread is closed (other than by the thread starter) in public and not off board via email, is 'critising' the moderation of the forum just as much as complaining about a ban that has been given or other moderator action. For me discussing and 'disputing' mod inaction is as much a breach of the spirit of rule 4 and its intented purpose as I understand it as discussing and disputing mods actions in public. I personaly see no difference.

I fail to see your problem. You set out to offend then moan when people make it clear that they are offended. You want to offend them, that is your aim. Perhaps you are just too busy trying to be offensive to realise the illogicality of your position.

I have had my wrists slapped by simbas and she has edited a few of my posts, I don't have a problem with that at all.I also accept personal wisecracks in the vein I assume they are intended, what I do object to is interference in threads by non mods blubbing into their hankies like big girls calling for moderation and bannings.

I also know that batterboy is having a laugh which is why a sense of humour comes in handy, some of you have either never had one or lost it somewhere between being born and now.



I am an advocate of free speech for all except maybe for you hahahahahaha...
