Obviously the weather must have had some impact on the non appearance of the Cicadas, but have they all drowned or been washed away? In the last 28 years, this is the first time I have not heard them. Has anyone else seen them or heard them.

It's the first year after last year's year mega-swarm so there are comparitively less.

Look on this as year-one with greater numbers each successive year until the next mega-swarm 7 years from last year.

Hi louthlass,

Noticed there were no Cicadas about where we are in Esentepe.

Long may it last

Got some frogs about, and noisy owls after dark.

I've not heard a one in Karsiyaka and I am in a very rural site. Plenty of frogs though.

Cicada larvae live underground for up to 12 years so maybe they just aren't in the mood to show themselves this year. Maybe we will get a double helping next year.

Nice and quiet here sea-side of Karsiyaka too.

Just one little bird tweeting away..and a few more in the distance...AHH Relaxation therapy.
