On Breakfast T.V this a.m, travel to Northern Cyprus and for a fee of about 17,000 sterling a fertility clinic will determine the sex of your child at conception to your choice!! Is this ethical??

How many choices are there, for that sort of money?

Why do you think its possibly unethical?

interfering with nature, upsetting the natural balance, playing God or some other religous figure head stuff like that... surely it would end up with the world overstocked with boys.

Establishing a childs sex is perfectly ethical. Having gained that knowledge, what people may do thereafter, may not be!

Wyn, you have that one well covered I think. There are certain groups that will abort a child if it is not a boy.

If someone wants to waste that sort of money then I think they should be taken to the nearest looney bin and locked away for life in my opinion. Then give the money to people who actually need it, they definitley do not.

CIH - you are right, it's all about money. If you have the money you can do what you want. No morals or ethics where monies are concerned.

Do they not simply make sure the sprerm of your choice reaches its target and hold back the others? If that's the case using a condom is worse... that's really interferring!
