Yes, interesting! It doesn't specifically mention property issues. I wonder if they will be included.

Nearly 30 policemen are going to serve in the department following they are being trained.

Financial policemen, who are going to be trained on tax, accounting, economy, law issues, will be more informed on financial crimes, corruption and smuggling.

This is a follow up to a CT article at the end of last year about 30 police officers setting up a fraud office after training

They have now been trained by the looks of it

The article said it was for money laundering and banking type fraud as well as government official and other economic crime

They will have their work cut out, if there's a will and a way.

I never could understand how a financial crime (re a partnership) in business by a tc partner who siphons off 000's of pounds from the business could be classed as a 'Civil Crime' and police refuse to get involved unless a cheque bounced for £1.50! lives ruined by tc's who were trusted by brits, now having to spend 5 years and many more 000's of pounds to get justice. My friend, in particular, planned to just take his capital back after 5 years and leave his partner with a great business which he could never have dreamed of.

Trouble was: He did not want to wait the 5 years. Heartbreaking.

Another friend formed a partnership to build a dozen houses in Kayalar, the moment the friend in question boarded the plane for UK, the partner sold the land and pocketed the money

Do not think this department will make any difference either. Think it will only protect the government from frauds, natural I suppose but still, I think that fraud is fraud no matter who the victim is!
