If anyone sees or is offered for sale 2 mountain bikes, 1 ladies, 1 mans. please contact me.

They have Apollo make written on the frame, turquoise/blue colour. Both with 3 front cogs and 5 rear. Both in excellent condition

We can clearly identify them if offered as we have photos and frame numbers. There will probably be only 2 in this country of this description being a Halfords brand and about 15 years old.

Thanks

David

PiePie is right, Dawn notified the Police of her lost buggy, it was back within 24 hours. Theft is taken pretty seriously.

Tell the Police. Tell as many people as you can. It is a small Island. It is difficult to hide a couple of nicked bikes in such a tight place if they are going to be knocked on then ears will prick. Where were they taken from?

I hope you get them back.

While doing investigative reporting I uncovered a sinister reason for bicycle thefts. Could this be the ulterior motive:

If there were two of them would they have been doing it in tandem?

As on profile, Karsiyaka.

Must have been 2 people as observed above they were chained together and back to front.

Police have been informed.

I have had excellent response and help from the police when we have had breakins at the villas we manage. In fact during one incident I counted 11 policemen there! Admitted 6 of them were talking on the phone and one scratching his backside while gazing at the view but the technician was throwing black fingerprint powder everywhere in a very enthusiastic way! They have even recovered the goods that were stolen.

Putting back to top.

Police have been to house and taken full statments now.

They have full description of bikes, full colour photos, frame numbers etc of both bikes.

The colour is a quite noticable turquoise, 15 speed gearing.

Police asked if we had any clues of who. My reply narrows the scope, he agreed No Cypriot is likely to be riding such a thing!!!!

We will in due course be trawlling the Bike Hire shops that have recently started up. But if anyone can save us the time and see an early return.

Personally would prefer to see them in a skip than some toe rag getting use of them.

Pike,

I wonder what the psychologists would call the offence?

I think the Sherrif should have pronounced the offence as one of "Peddling" bringing new meaning to the word and maybe making for some really humorous headlines to come...

Sherrif Gives Man Tough Ride for Peddling,

Man Caught Peddling Gave Bike A Rough Ride... or

Bike Rider Caught Peddling Red-handed

Just a thought....

Stop looking, thank you.

The bikes were about 100 yards from home over a wall and down the hill.

Whoever took them had obviously tried to carry the 2 bikes still chained together. Then had a go at breaking the chain and lock without success. So discarded them.

Police officer who took the details was happy cos he did not have to complete his report. Although it is known there have been a number of thefts in Karsiyaka area and it is thought to be same people.

Also praise to the officer we spoke to this morning, he apologised to us cos his English was poor!! Should be other way around, Turkish is the local language and it should be us who apologise for knowing so little.

Why ask about insurance Sylvie? Of course they were insured but you still have to go through the long bureaucratic rigmarole before insurance will pay out. Unlike UK. I know which country has it wrong!!!!!

great news turkish cypriots would not steal anything . Police are excellent in TRNC treat scum bags with the contempt they deserve. like it used to be in the UK when i was a kid if some person nicked anything they would investigate it in the locality and nine times out of ten come up with the results. anyway great news hope they find the culprits. ronaldo
