There are stray cats downstairs to me and one of them has a very poorly eye, it is very swollen and the poor thing can not open it. Is there something I can bathe it with? I thought maybe a bit of diluted dettol???? Can anyone advise please.

It would be best to take it to a vet, eye problems can easily lead to blindness.

Nick salt is not a good idea..it may inflame it more..Osmosis..will further dehydrate the eye ....vet is the best option it could be bacterial ...it may need antibiotics...sorry but there are some very old remedies around ...salt is not a good idea..hope hes better soon
