Hi everyone,

Just to prevent misunderstanding,

Ali Campbell - The Legendary Voice of UB40 will be on Escape Beach on 16th July 2011

As the celebrated voice of some of the UK's best loved reggae hits with muti-million selling reggae band UB40, Ali Campbell has sold over 70 million albums and had over 40 UK hit singles including 'Red, Red Wine', 'I Got You Babe', 'Can't Help Falling In Love', 'Many Rivers To Cross' and many, many more. Since leaving UB40 three years ago Ali Campbell has released three hugely successful solo albums back to back - 'Running Free', 'Flying High' and most recently 'Great British Songs ' - returning to the Top Ten and Top Fifteen respectively in the UK album charts with each release. The ex-UB40 frontman is now touring with his new band.

Ali Campbell (without UB40) is at Escape Beach in July and UB40 (without Ali Campbell) are at the Amphitheatre in August, so there are 2 different shows.

Hi ,Can I try and clear up the misunderstanding, first of all, Ali Campell is NOT with UB40 nor has been since 2008, his brother replaced him who incidently was the oringinal choice when they first formed,so you have Ali Campell at Escape Beach and UB40 at the Ampitheatre on 19th August.

I hope this clears up any confusion.

Also for those of us able to remember to 1960s we have 2 original groups from that era also performing at the Ampitheatre on 6th August, the names of the groups to be announced imminently. These 2 groups had massive hits in the 60s & early 70s

Well it can't be Dave Dee, D B M & T, it could be the Tremeloes or Marmalade or the Barron Nights ....but it's sure to be of similar musical integrity ...my money is on The Foundations (their lead singer is on those phone adverts with alleged David Bedford look-alikes)

I was totally madly in love with Mike Pender also loved the animals. Dixie do you know who the drummer will be as a customer of ours was the drummer.

The current 'Animals' contain none of the band who recorded House of the Rising Sun -even John Steel the drummer has hung up his sticks

Mike Pender left 'The Searchers' amidst great acrimony in 1981

Hi, Yes, both bands on the same night,

Lilli,Can you give me the name of the drummer and I will let you know,

Riddles, you are wrong on both counts, Mike Pender is very much with them along with his Son ,also John Steel is still with the Animals, only Burdon is missing.

I have their passport details .

Only Burdon is missing from the band that recorded House of the Rising Sun?

Well, Chas Chandler is deceased and Hilton Valentine playing would surprise me ...Alan Price would absolutely flabbergast me!

Mike Pender split from the Searchers in 1981 and now runs 'Mike Pender's Searchers' -not quite the same I think!

Buttercup use the link in msg 10 - you can get tickets there at half price. This is Ali Campbell, not UB40 as it used to be, just to be clear.
