Lots of night clubs all over the North, full of scantilly clad women. Can be expensive depending on what extras you have. End of season though, so some of them are doing special offers, buy one get one free etc...

Hope this helps.

I can confirm cream is very very noisy , As an old codger in his late 40s I dared to venture in. A very swift about turn was performed.

Also the tunnel and some bar near the belapais trafic lights.

Two 21 year old single males will not be welcomed in many of Kyrenia's bars/clubs. The local lads see them as competition for the girlies and get their bouncer mates to chuck them out or even not let them in.

This has happened on various occasions to two of my sons.

Cream is OK. They won't get any trouble in there - unless they look for it of course.

Is the disco at Escape still going on? Me and my bro enjoyed that when we were last over there together (2005 so might be a bit out of date info).

Not sure if its still open tho as 5Mile seemed shut in Sep and cant remember whether the disco was attached to 5Mile or Escape which remains open.

ilovemydogs, please tell your son/s not to be tempted to go south at all. Lots of problems with Brits and GC's in the past.

Someone mentioned earlier they see it as competition and they have a tendency to gang up (cowards cant handle a one on one fight).

turbo. why would it be a problem for them to go south. they were thinking of getting on a bus and going south if the nightlife is not what they want. surely once they are over the border it will be ok .. or is it the border you mean where they could run into trouble.

The border is no problem at all.

All I am saying that from what I have read in the Cyprus mail, it seems that the south is a little more aggressive than the north.

They should walk away from any agro, it has been known that they gang up if one person cant handle a fight.

Just do a search on the Cyprus mail, keyword "bars" or "fights" or "Aya napa".

I hope they have a good time.

Not neccassarily the GC's to worry about:

Ayia Napa off limits?

By Jacqueline Theodoulou

(archive article - Friday, February 29, 2008)

Mayor set ban young soldiers following more violence but Bases spokesman claims problem is a ‘a media-generated issue’

THE WHOLE of Ayia Napa could soon be out of bounds for all British soldiers, the town’s mayor said yesterday.

The decision comes in the wake of yet another violent incident in one of the town’s bars earlier this month, allegedly instigated by soldiers from the British Bases.

Nine soldiers were charged in connection with the incident, which left five soldiers and two Greek Cypriots injured.

“This is a problem that has been going on for years,” Ayia Napa Mayor Antonis Tsokkos told the Cyprus Mail yesterday.

“We had a number of problems last season and after the recent incidents, we have no choice but to keep Ayia Napa out of bounds for young soldiers of the British Bases.”

The centre of Ayia Napa was already out of

Any club or bar located in the popular tourist resort’s town centre has been off limits to British military personnel for at least ten years.

The ban was implemented following repeated bad press for their involvement in a string of violent, drunken off-duty clashes in the island’s tourist resorts in the 1990s.

Tsokkos was keen to point out that this restriction was in no way discriminatory towards Brits and did not apply to all members of the British Bases.

“This is not aimed at Bases officers, just the 17 to 18-year-olds who cause problems,” he pointed out.

“We have a very good relationship with the officers and we hold them in great esteem. It is this specific age-group that has proved, over the years, to be the problem.

The majority of British Bases soldiers are very well-behaved and respectful and we thank them for that.”

Tsokkos admitted this was a very sensitive issue that needed to be handled carefully. “Under no circumstances do I want this projected as discri

Tsokkos said he would request the cooperation of the Bases’ Military Police in order to ensure the ban is fully implemented.

“We will ask the Military Police to cooperate and patrol the area; without their help, it will be impossible for us to do it on our own.”

If something isn’t done soon, lives could be lost, he added. “And its not just locals who are at risk; tourists are in danger too.”

Deputy Bases Spokesman, Captain Nick Ulvert yesterday refused to comment on what he called “a media-generated issue”.

He also contradicted Tsokkos’ claims that the Bases had been contacted on the issue.

“There is nothing to say until we are approached formally by the Mayor of Ayia Napa. If he wishes to negotiate banning our soldiers from the whole of Ayia Napa then he can approach us formally. Until he actually contacts us, I’m afraid there’s nothing for us to say.”

At the time of the most recent incident, which took place in Bedrock – a karaoke bar already out of bounds for Briti

I dont think they would have a problem, we went to Ayia Napa for a few days about three weeks ago, caught the bus from Nicosea into the centre of Ayia Napa and back and didnt see any trouble at all whilst i was there.

thanks for that turbo.

kitty kat jac... did you actually go to any bars at night? i have never been south so i don't know, my sons friend has been before , but when he was younger.

i don't think my son could be mistaken for the military, he is too big. I know they both doo keep away from trouble, my son mostly because he is so big he is scared of hitting anyone incase he does any harm. and trouble makers do think twice when they see him. i think on reflection i will keep them close by.

Yeah we did go to the bars, but to be fair it was closing down then so dont think there will be much going on when they are over. There is plenty to do over this side anyway. Dont listen to Nige tho cos the Base Club near the Bellapais lights closed down about a year ago!!

Oh god they are going to struggle in Arapkoy, the nearest places will be town then! For bars there is cafe 34 on the harbour, Roxannes (next to the rocks hotel) best daquari in the world but a bit Turkish. Cream and Neo next door to each other in the little car park off the main shopping street. Not been to any clubs in ages, used to go to the tunnel but dont think its much cop now the Funky Monkeys dont play there anymore. I will have a think and let you know.
