Whether or not you like the Abba songs, I strongly suggest that you check out the movie Mama Mia. Meryl Streep's passion singing 'Winner takes it all' will send you for sure. Even Pierce Brosnan in support is amazing. The movie starts off really cheesy, but stick with it. Available from Ilkay in karakum. Enjoy

PB deserves a medal for humiliating himself , it would have been fun if he took it that way, but he seriously thought he could sing.. Colin Firth on the other hand didnt do a bad job, quite a catchy song. Fun movie, looks a lot like Cyprus used to. many years ago.

Enjoyed the film, definately has a feel good factor the nauseating beginning left me wondering whether I could sit through it but it got better, also agree who on earth cast PB to murder Abba songs? they want their head examining, it was painful to listen to. Always liked Abba songs, blast from the past listening to them again, even bought their cd NOT the soundtrack from the musical, could not bear to have to listen to PB again. LL

I disagree that it's a 'girlie' film. It's the ultimate feelgood factor movie - of course Pearce Brosnan can't sing, he knows that too, but he had a go and you just know that the cast must have had a ball making it. No wonder the dvd's are flying off the shelves at 5YTL a copy.

I watched it recently and have to say I agree totally with the fact that it was pretty painful listening to PB trying to sing. It was absolutely awful. I felt that if you took away the songs then there was nothing left in the film. They could have made the storyline a long stronger. Glad I didn't pay to watch it.

it is defo a chick flick, but it does bring back memories of the 70's they did win the euroviosion. Did you know that they have been offered a BILLION $'s to do a world wide tour and they refused. I am a big Meryl Streep fan and had to see it, am glad I did, the scenery was nostalgic of old Cyprus in the early 70's. This is a huge coincidence, while writing this, a question was just asked on telly about Abba's first hit.. Scary.
