Does anyone know where to get good hair cut and what's the price in general? Also do you have to go for the full works:shampoo/blowdry or will they do cuts only? Unlike many women can't stand sitting there having all that nonsense, rather do it myself and would cut own hair if able.

Hi Mitsi - I am a hairdresser - I work in Kyrenia for Nulten Oral . We offer a simple wash and cut if you dont want all the hassle of blow drying etc. The prices depend on who is going to cut your hair ( based on the level of experience of the stylist - a standard tiering system ) and of course what you have done - based on this a wash and cut on short hair is priced between - 17 and 35 ytl. I hope this info is of some use to you. If you wish to make an appointment you can call 0392 815 9567 or 0533 861 6674 Rachel

hi Mitsi, I would recommend the Cutting Room in Kyrenia. I pay 50ytl for cut, wash & blow dry. I know that she will do a simple wash & cut & it would cost less. The phone no is 0392 815 9151

Took our Daughter to Hair Bonita (opposite the Teacher's hotel and near on the other side, Molly's Place cafe Girne) Absolutely knocked out... wonderful haircut... she took a picture of the style she wanted and for the first time in her life they actually did as near a faithful copy as you could ask for.... Top marks, speaks good English been here for years...

Augusta - I would like to advise that if you want a GOOD cut to go to Nülten - you will receive a professional service, great advice and at competitive price ( looking at the other threads with regards to prices ) A cut and blow dry starts at 30 ytl with the 1st year improver stylist ( newly qualified) 45 ytl with the senior stylist 60 ytl with Nülten (cutting technician) The salon is always looking for models too for supervised training sessions in the city and guilds training centre - at discounted rates from 10 ytl for a cut and blow dry. I hope this information is of use Augusta!!!!!! airy fairy

Hi Mitsi, I would avoid Velena. I went there first - they speak very little English & completely changed my style. Also I asked to have my eyebrows waxed & they did it with string - very painful!!. I would avaid them at all costs.

I went to Velena hairdresser. Parked outside went in and asked could I book a cut and blow dry. No probs how about now they said. A man cut and blow dried my hair, something I always avoid at home, but he did a great job. Charge 35ytl and the cut is still looking good after 2 months! His english was pretty good, and he certainly understood "Not too short please" Considering at home in Pembrokeshire I pay around £60/£65 and £2 for parking I think I had a bargain. When I am back for a long spell next year I will go back to Velena as long as I get the same man!

Decided to try hair bonita cos I was passing and was convenient. Very good cut and rough blow dry ( which I wanted for speed) Cost same as most 35 ytl. Would go there again or Velena cos have seen only good results from them too. I hate making appointments, what I want is a drop- in shop for a cut. Used to do this at home. excellent. Hate all the fuss and snobbery of hairdressing salons, all tryin to flog their shampoo/products etc: Do my hair better than any hairdresser I've ever been to, except for cutting it.

I'd also recommend Joels of London, they come from UK and speak perfect English, so you get exactly what you want. I've tried Velena and Cutting Rooms a couple of times, but now I always go to Joels. On the back road to Lapta off the waterfall roundabout in town.
